The steady uptake of personal passenger EVs will soon be surpassed by commercial fleets, across light, medium and heavy duty electric vehicles. Corporate America is leading the way with the procurement and deployment of electric vehicles, but securing reliable, sufficient EV charging infrastructure requires capital and expertise that is not the purpose and competency of most EV adopting organizations. Local electric grids are not ready to support the magnitude of power capacity required for this transition, especially in a timeline that aligns seamlessly with vehicle deliveries. Fortunately, the Investment in Infrastructure & Jobs Act (IIJA) is entering the design and implementation phase in order to close the gap between vehicle and charging infrastructure availability.
